Stacie Collins, die Blues- Country- und Rockröhre aus
Nashville, kommt mit ihrer Band nach Stemwede. Stacie Collins sei eine
unvergleichlich powervolle Sängerin und Harpspielerin, die mit einer
professionellen Band um ihren Mann Al Collins im Hintergrund alles gebe,
teilte der Verein für Jugend, Freizeit und Kultur in Stemwede (JFK)
mitteilte. Am Freitag, 13. September, stehen sie um 20 Uhr auf Einladung
des JFK auf der Bühne des Life Houses Wehdem.
Stacie Collins sei bereits eine echte Hausnummer in den Staaten, wenn es
um satten Roots Rock mit Southern Boogie, Blues und etwas Country gehe,
teilte der JFK mit. Ihr aktuelles Album "Sometimes Ya Gotta?"
präsentiere bluesorientierte Rockmusik direkt von den Ufern des
Mississippi, die auf dem kürzesten Weg direkt ins Ohr gehe. Musik sei
immer noch am authentischsten, wenn sie mit Herzblut gemacht werde,
teilte der JFK mit. Und die aus Nashville/Tennessee stammende Sängerin
habe viel Herzblut und noch mehr.
Sie hat den Rock?n Roll. Deshalb sind ihre Bühnenauftritte laut
JFK-Mitteilung mittlerweile legendär. "Die Nashville Powerfrau bietet
Blues Rock der Champions-League hautnah und absolut einmalig.", so die
Süddeutsche Zeitung. Der Deutschlandfunk widmete Stacie Collins eine
eigene Sendung. Stacie Collins selbst singt, schreit, gospelt sich die
Seele aus dem Leib, pustet auf mehr als der Hälfte der Stücke in ihre
Blues Harp, dass es noch weit über den Mississippi hinaus schallt. Neben
ihrer sympathischen, kraftvollen Stimme und ihrem kompositorischen
Talent ist Stacie Collins auch eine phantastische
Mundharmonikaspielerin. Seit frühesten Kindheitstagen beeinflusst von
den musikalischen Stilen der Gegenden, in denen sie lebte, entstand eine
tiefe Liebe zur Country-Music.
In ihren Teenager-Tagen baute sich eine enge Beziehung zur
L.A./Westcoast-Rockszene auf. Später entdeckte sie, vor allem durch
ihren Vater, ihre Leidenschaft sowohl für den Southern Rock, Boogie und
Rock?n?Roll als auch für den Chicago Blues-Sound. Eine faszinierende
Konstellation.

Harmonica blowin’ hell-cat STACIE COLLINS is a blazing a trail travelled by few women. Sporting a hard-core honky-tonk wail while backed by a slam-bang rock ‘n’ roll band, she weds Stones fried rock-n-roll, gut bucket blues and vintage honky-tonk. Based in Nashville, TN, she tours the US, Scandinavia and Europe regularly and has even spawned a Japanese “Stacie Collins” tribute band.
Produced by rock legend Dan Baird (The Georgia Satellites / Homemade Sin), her 2007 release, THE LUCKY SPOT became a fan favorite and received airplay world wide. A ten song, southern rockin’, harp howlin’ blues romp, had this record been released twenty or thirty years ago it would have sounded as natural on ’70s FM radio alongside ZZ Top and The Rolling Stones as it does next to contemporary rockers like the Drive By Truckers or Blackberry Smoke.
Appearing in a host of articles, one writer wrote “Stacie is a bad-ass gritty babe who takes no shit, honed her barstool feminism in road houses and honky-tonks and wails on a mean blues harp”. Another one credits her with being a leader in the Outlaw Country movement stirring in Nashville boasting “ Collins shows those plastic gals what real music is supposed to sound like”.
Her current release, SOMETIMES YA GOTTA (the second produced by Baird) hit the streets in November 2010. Made possible in part by partnering with her fans and Kickstarter.com, SOMETIMES YA GOTTA is packed with 12 tracks of giddy-up rattle-n-roll and boasts an all-star line-up of players including the guitar work of Warner E. Hodges (Jason & The Scorchers / Homemade Sin), Eric ‘EBO’ Borash (Radney Foster) and Dan Baird along with the rhythm section of Jimmy Lester (Los Los Straitjackets / Webb Wilder) on drums and Stacie’s rocker husband / writing partner, Al Collins (Jason and The Scorchers) on bass.
Armed with a new album that is sure to rate as her best work yet, a live show that makes you say, “damn girl!” and a band that makes you want to be in a band (and if you are in a band, makes ya want to be in a better one), Stacie Collins is sittin’ in a sling-shot and the arm is drawn back tight. Was für ein Energiebündel! Ihr ur-amerikanischer Roots'n Blues Rock schreit ohnehin nach expressiver Vortragsweise. Was Stacie Collins allerdings mit ihrer eigenen Musik live vollführt ist mit „hingebungsvollem Entertainment“ nur unzureichend beschrieben. Bereits als Teenager hatte Stacie den Wunsch, Sängerin zu werden, doch erst mit Ehemann und Profimusiker Al Collins (Bassist bei Jason & The Scorchers) nahm ihre eigene Karriere Gestalt an. Sie lernte Songs zu schreiben, selbstbewusst zu singen und die Blues Harp zu spielen. Im Jahr 2000 erschien ihr noch eher Country-lastiges Debütalbum, später wandte sie sich mehr und mehr Southern Roots Rock mit den Koordinaten Blues, Boogie, Rock'n Roll und Country Rock zu. Sie verfügte nun über bemerkenswerte Shouterqualitäten, hatte ihr schneidendes Spiel auf der Harmonica kultiviert und das gemeinsame Songwriting mit ihrem Mann auf eine breitere Basis gestellt. Besonders in Europa rannte sie damit offene Türen ein. Allein in 2012 kam sie vier Mal über den Atlantik, um in 11 Ländern insgesamt über 80 Shows zu spielen. Kolossale, schweißtreibende Live-Unterhaltung ist bei Stacie Collins garantiert.
